What is leadership ?.
Leadership is the capacity of someone to lead or to say it is a trust conferred on someone to steer others in the course they should follow with the aim of achieving certain goals. It doesn't mean attaining a higher position or having authority to Lord it over others or gaining recognition or material benefits but it is about taking up responsibilities
A leader is like a parent nurturing her child. Parenting is all about moulding the character of the child in an acceptable manner. Though benefits will be derived for upbringing a child to be the best but that should not be the main reason for parenting.True Leadership is about helping others discover their potential and unleash them. It's about developing abilities and talents to bring out the best that can benefit humanity. A true leader is not that man or woman who can do anything good or evil to attain leadership for egocentric motives. It goes far greater than attaining benefits, power or anything else, it controls everything in any field it is thrust on, it has the power to success or failure therefore the position should be secured for good reasons which are non selfish.
A true leader seeks to develop someone just like him or better. You can only be a successful leader if the people you lead can effectively execute their duties even in your absence but that can only happen if those people depend on you. You should be humble and free, the people you are leading should be happy to come and look for advice to you# everyone appreciate kindness so be nice to them.
Never allow your ambitious dreams of being a leader be ignited by egocentric motives, you should have a clear and good conscience for a true leadership position. The main reason for the cry of many today is because of poor leadership whose quest is to fulfill egocentric motives not to serve it's purpose so if you want to be a leader you have to search your heart find the motive behind if it's for selfish reasons, don't hesitate to get rid of it. Trust me you don't need it.
